Two GRA positions available for PhD in IC design

Dr. Hu is seeking talented individuals for the following positions with graduate research assistant (GRA) appointment starting Fall 2019 or Spring 2020:

Number Funding Description
PhD Two (2) Fully-funded. (tuition waiver + stipend + benefits by OSU)
MS Unlimited Half or self-funded.

Students with a BS or MS degree in EE or related fields, as well as working professionals are encouraged to apply. Minimum qualifications include:

  1. GRE (>=300 combined)

  2. (International students:) TOEFL (>=79) or IELTS (>=6.5), unless a bachelor’s or masters’s degree from a US institution is received.

Preferred qualifications (not required) include:

  1. IC design, tape-out, or measurement experience

Deadline: A.S.A.P. but no later than May 30, 2019 (Fall 2019 admission) and Jun 30, 2019 (Spring 2020 admission)

Start Date: August 2019 or January 2020

Adviser: Dr. Hu has ten years of experience in IC design at Qualcomm, Maxim, and TI. He was the chip lead and architect for a number of key ICs inside several generations of iPhone and Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets. He also published extensively with Springer and IEEE journals/conferences. He holds several US patents and received many other awards. Dr. Hu was elevated to IEEE Senior Member in 2016.
